This project was start with the general idea about sustainable facade design of residential architecture with courtyard inside as common building type in Berlin.  Our goal is achieved by design the building façade as the main strategy to reach the sustainable requirement of whole building.

      The site is near by a street, which located on the south side of the site. Considering the solar influence to our building and public view that we bring to the city, the southern facade is one of our main design elements. Because there might be buildings being constructed against the west and east side of our building, we are not propose any openings on those two side. All units are lofts, so they can get more space, and by doing this, we only need hallway on every two floors.
